#1- Magical Sage / Alchemist

Meditating on the qualities of the Magical
Sage Archetype today, I practice juggling
essential elements within my Life Design.
Being a Grandmother, requires presence
and fluidity, non-attachment to outcomes,
and going with the flow of each moment.

Aware of being both particle and wave,
Magical Sages embody a hidden wisdom,
appearing at times to be brilliant or crazy
Cooking up tacos, pinatas or tire swings,
shooting bebe guns or bows and arrows,
the imagination is active and engaged.

Balancing work and play, responsibility
and recreation is not always easy due to
hidden factors that may pop up each day.
At times one can focus too much on end
results or one may loose oneself in the
creative process, negating practicality.

Playful Souls love life unconditionally,
with open hearts and depth of breath,
taking care to nurture the imagination.
As Earth, Air, Water and Fire Dragons
invoke lucid concerns for Earth's survival,
may we manifest solutions in Dreams.

Loving and hugging, teasing and testing,
as Alchemists, we learned by observing
our thoughts, actions and our imagery.
Awakening from a Dream about Rats
I realize at the time, the symbol for
the year was Ratin China's Astrology.

Rather than fearing the image, I invited
it to play and after some research, found
it is considered to be a courageous sign.
Rats are resourceful, adaptive to change,
they find solutions to problems and signal
things are progressing toward fruition.

Master nest-makers, they use what they
find as resources to construct homes
safely hidden away from predators.
A herald of endings and beginnings, the
need to clear clutter and release the past,
Rat this week is one of my sacred Allies.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Six years later, as I edit this passage,
it is now the year of the Goat or Sheep,
reminding us to begin new endeavors.
Goats are known as surefooted climbers,
one step at a time they stay the course,
know they can always land on their feet.
Let this be a reminder to us all this year,
to have faith in ourselves, trusting the
process of life, as it's beauty unfolds.
Transforming our stubbornness, may
we surrender to the song and dance
of our musical story,  called Life.
